What counts as an anime MMORPG here

An anime MMORPG on this page is a persistent online game with an anime or manga-influenced art style, playable by Western players on PC, phone or both. A game earned a place only if a publisher page or a gaming outlet that we could read backs its dates and platforms. Review scores are not used.

The site follows 2D, Korean and free-to-play games, and this list does not force that lane. Six of the eight entries are free to start by their own descriptions or store pages. One has rolled out only in parts of Asia, and the entry says so plainly.

All statements are as of 30 October 2026. Updates and server plans change, so the entries report launch dates and descriptions, not what will happen next.

It says the core game is free with certain paid content, and lists cross-platform multiplayer. The page carries the Anime tag among others, and gives system requirements for Windows 10 64-bit only.

Ankama relaunched Dofus Touch on iOS and Android on 3 April 2024 with a new English server, per its press release. It is a prequel to the Wakfu animated series, and the release describes an art style that mixes Western cartoon and Japanese anime. Combat is tactical and turn-based.

RPGSite announced that Hotta Studio's Neverness to Everness would launch worldwide on 29 April 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android, and MassivelyOP confirmed the launch on that date. MassivelyOP calls it a gacha MMO, so expect a randomized-reward shop. It is a supernatural urban open-world game, closer to an action RPG than the older titles here.

Choosing an anime MMORPG by platform

If you want one account on a desktop and a phone, start with Toram Online or Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. Asobimo lists Toram Online on iOS, Android and PC, and the Star Resonance launch coverage describes cross-play between PC and mobile on shared servers.

If you want turn-based combat, Dofus Touch is the only entry built around it. Its press release lists iOS and Android, and the English server arrived with the April 2024 relaunch.

If you play on a console, Neverness to Everness is the only entry reported for PlayStation 5. A gacha shop sits in the game, so set a spending limit before you start. Aero Tales Online sits at the cozy end, with cooking, farming and housing beside its PvP and PvE.

If you want a game with an older, free-to-play feel on desktop, the two Steam entries are the place to look. SEGA's page for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis lists cross-platform multiplayer, and the Eden Eternal page lists in-app purchases, so read each shop before you spend.

Platforms and shops change faster than this page can, so the quickest check before you install anything is the store page itself.

The table above lists each game's publisher or developer only as the sources name them. Where a source names a developer but no publisher, as with Neverness to Everness, the cell says so.

Left out, and why

Tower of Fantasy has no entry because its current operating status is unclear. Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves are left out because they are described as open-world action RPGs, not MMORPGs.

Aura Kingdom has no entry either. MassivelyOP reported that Aeria Games' MMORPG was removed from Steam at the publisher's request, with no date given (the publisher has described a temporary lock for new players instead), and the status elsewhere is unconfirmed. Aura Kingdom 2 is a mobile sequel that is a separate game.

If a game you like is missing, the cause is usually that no outlet we could read has confirmed it. The older Korean and 2D titles of the early 2010s sit in the archive, with the free MMORPG list covering what is playable today.
