About and editorial policy

Ignited Games is an independent editorial guide to 2D, Korean and free-to-play MMORPGs. It follows seven archive games and the wider field, and every fact on it names its source and the date it was checked.

What this site is

Ignited Games follows one lane of online games: 2D and side-scrolling MMORPGs, Korean free-to-play titles, and the services that were published in the West in the early 2010s and later changed or closed. It is an editorial guide and an archive. It does not speak for the company Ignited Games Inc., and it is not run by it.

The site hosts no games and no downloads. Where an official release is running today, the game page links to the publisher's own page. It has no private servers, no advertising and no betting content.

Four things this site does not do

  • Nofiles

The site hosts no game files and links to no download mirrors.

  • Noservers

No private servers are linked. Only a publisher's own official pages are.

  • Noads

No ads and no sponsored placements appear on any page.

How pages are researched

Four steps, the same for every page.

  1. Start from dated sources

Research starts from dated press coverage and publisher announcements.

    Source: Editorial policy
  2. Name the source

A claim enters a game page only when a dated report or announcement states it, and the page shows the source and the date it was last checked.

    Source: Editorial policy
  3. Say what is missing

Where a fact cannot be found, the page says so. Player counts, revenue and review scores are left out of the archive, because the available coverage does not supply them.

    Source: Editorial policy
  4. Correct and re-date

A page is corrected when a better source replaces the one it used, and the new date shows on the page.

As-of dates and corrections

Every status carries an as-of date. The date states when the source was last checked, not when the event happened. A game marked playable or not running shows the date of the check next to it, because publishers change their services.
